Channel their teenage angst productively with Martial Arts!

There is no better time, especially during the stressful day-to-day schedule of a teenager, to explore martial arts through our Impact Poconos studio. Our organization is excited to help older students in middle school and high school reap the physical and mental benefits of martial arts, providing them an outlet to de-stress and curate a positive self-image. If you’re a parent living in the Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania area or surrounding communities, we invite you to browse our Teen Martial Arts program and to consider enrolling your own child. We’re happy to help individuals unfamiliar with this physical art form to discover it’s benefits and decide if it’s an ideal hobby outside of the typical educational environment. Help keep up their energy levels and give them a break from the stresses of homework and school with our Teen Martial Arts program, designed to increase their self-esteem, confidence, and sense of respect.

Self-esteem issues, or lack of confidence in themselves

What Your Teen Will Learn

If your teen has been interested in karate for some time and has been asking to enroll in a class, then we’d love to help them begin their martial arts training. Perhaps they took a kids’ martial arts class in the past, but didn’t stick with it, and now want to start training again. If so, we can help them learn new techniques, forms, and skills.

Our teen class is more of a traditional karate program, where the focus is on self-defense and sparring. Teens will have the opportunity to work with our adult martial arts classes, getting a glimpse into what they can expect, should they continue with their training as they get older.

Build Confidence

Karate and martial arts can be a great way for teens to build confidence and self-esteem. If your child has been bullied at school (or has been the bully), karate can teach them to feel better about themselves and more confident in how they approach each situation in life. They can learn to stand up for themselves and diffuse situations without confrontation or violence. If they do end up in a physical altercation, they will know how to control themselves and deescalate the situation as quickly as possible.

Create Friendships

If your child tends to keep to themselves or doesn’t have many friends, martial arts can be a great way to create new friendships. They’ll train with kids their own age, and each teen will have a common goal of improving their karate skills. In-class sessions and conversations can lead to hanging out after class or on weekends, and your teen can soon have a tight-knit group of friends that looks out for each other.

A Lifetime of Skills

If a child begins taking karate as a teen or pre-teen, they can learn skills they will use their entire life. They can have a better understanding of how to deal with the stress and pressure of school, relationships, and a career, and they’ll know they can handle themselves in any situation. They can learn to be more independent, as well as how to support others in their life. The skills and confidence they gain through martial arts can translate into getting into a good college, pursuing a great job, and feeling fulfilled in whatever they do in life, simply because they achieved so much with karate.

RAISING A TEENAGER CAN BE DIFFICULT AS A PARENT

LUCKILY THERE IS A SIMPE SOLUTION…

Teenagers can be a handful, even on their best days. But as a parent, you want to make sure your teenager is set up for success and has the skills they will need throughout their life. Studying martial arts helps kids, and especially teenagers, develop discipline and confidence that they will be able to bring home, to school, and into their adult life.

YOUR TEEN WILL GROW WITH EVERY CLASS!

Teenagers who study martial arts learn the benefits of self-control and discipline with every lesson. Our classes emphasize core values like discipline, respect, and persistence. Students learn that the way they treat others – in and out of the dojo – reflects on them as people and affects their ability to achieve their goals.

HELPS BULLIED TEENS FEEL STRONG AND PROUD

Bullying is a huge problem in high schools around the country, and if your child is being bullied, you know that something needs to change.

Studying martial arts helps teens respect themselves, make the most of their natural talents and capabilities, and carry themselves with strength.

Ultimately, kids who feel good about themselves are less likely to be bullied than kids who don’t.

AGGRESSIVE TEENS LEARN HOW TO CONTROL THEMSELVES

Teen who bully their peers often do so because they lack self-esteem and they don’t know what to do with the fear, anger, and aggression.

Martial arts instruction helps teens corral their aggression and channel it into something positive. It teaches them that violence and unkindness are not the answer to their problems.

In our martial arts school, all students must respect their instructors and one another. As aggressive teens learn to respect themselves and others, they no longer feel the need to bully.
